If you’re not entirely clear what Merlin is, they’re a non-profit, member-led organization that collectively negotiates with DSPs like Spotify and Apple Music on behalf of independent labels and distributors… so that we all don’t have to do so individually. 

Most of its tens of thousands of label members use a distributor affiliated with Merlin, like Secretly, Redeye, IDOL, or DistroKid. 

But labels that use a Merlin-affiliated *delivery* company like AudioSalad or FUGA to get their music into DSPs still need a way to consolidate the royalty reporting that gets delivered back through Merlin, since a distributor isn’t doing that for them.
